About Me

I was first introduced to the Pilates method in 1999, and have found it a valuable tool for performance enhancement as a dancer, and in everyday life for well-being/recovery/rehabilitation postnatally/illness/surgery. I believe that Pilates training can be beneficial to everyone, promoting positive changes in body awareness, posture, movement patterning and well being. In 2006, I undertook a year long intensive and in depth (contemporary and classical) Pilates teacher training programme at The Place (through the Pilates Foundation UK) to become a Pilates matwork teacher under the supervision of master teachers Hana Jones, Susanne Lahusen and Sonia Noonan to enable me to share my experiences of this wonderful method with others. In 2025, after nearly 20 years of Pilates teaching, I embarked on my classical Pilates teacher training journey, commencing the fully comprehensive (equipment and matwork) 600+ hours Classical Pilates teacher training with Stacey Smith at Trent Park Pilates.

I offer a calm and relaxed class atmosphere, and my style of teaching is influenced by my dance background to create a sense of flow throughout the class. The exercises build up progressively using evolved material to lead up to Joseph Pilates’ orginal classical matwork repertoire (-it is not commonly known that there are only 34 original matwork exercises, although there are many variations). Through regular practice, class members develop their body awareness, posture, core stability, control, precision, flexibility, and strength, and are eventually able to correct themselves due to increased body awareness and understanding.
