I have been a client of Kate’s for 12 years and was a complete novice when I started. Pilates was recommended to me after I had some pelvis joint issues following the birth of my 3rd child. I can honestly say that I don’t think that I would be in the shape I am now if it wasn’t for Kate. She’s is extremely patient and thorough, always making sure you are in the correct position (a few millimetres out surprisingly makes a lot of difference!) and walks you through the routines every step of the way. She has a very calming nature and no matter how stressed you may have been at the start of a session, by the end of the hour you are totally relaxed. I find myself using pilates in everyday life now, mainly through the good postural habits Kate has taught us.

The classes are small and personal – Kate knows everyone’s particular issues, where we need to be careful and where we can push ourselves. She notices small details in what people are doing and makes gentle corrections. She is always encouraging, and the classes are very enjoyable. I’m a fit 65 but have had lifelong back problems. Kate’s careful and well- structured classes keep me in shape and pretty much pain free. My posture and core strength are probably better now than when I was much younger.

I thoroughly enjoy Kate’s Pilates classes, which have already made a difference to how I look and feel.  Her approach is fun and friendly but totally professional. I don’t find myself watching the clock at all. The groups are small enough to allow her to focus on the needs of each individual and her one-to-one sessions are extremely motivating.

I’ve found that Pilates has improved my breathing & my posture, and quite dramatically.  I think Kate is an excellent instructor.  She is patient, encouraging & paces your development according to your individual needs.  She constantly monitors what you individually need to work on and improve.  I always have a great time in the class, I learn so much and I’m really grateful to her for that!

I’m delighted with the difference I have seen and felt in my body so quickly. I was recommended to try Pilates by my Osteopath as I had back pain from bad posture. Since starting, not only has my back pain gone but my body has changed shape-even my husband and friends have noticed the difference!

Pilates works subtly, but now after a year there is nothing subtle about the changes both myself and other people have noticed in my posture.  It is dramatically improved, as is my breathing. I even find it has a dramatic effect on reducing stress.  Although it works subtly, you can notice changes relatively quickly:  After about five lessons I started to become conscious of my posture whilst sitting & walking, and re-adjust; Somewhere between ten and twenty lessons, I noticed that I made these re-adjustments without consciously thinking about it, and now I mostly sit and walk with a correct posture so there are few re-adjustments I have to make.  I think the instructor is very important, because firstly in the beginning you need encouragement. The effects are subtle so you wonder if it’s actually doing anything for you, and also you don’t know how to do the exercises very well, so you may become self-conscious.  If you have an instructor who is patient, non-judgmental, encouraging & fosters a relaxed/open environment in the class you feel like coming back.  You get that little extra something to get past the initial doubtful early stages of whether it’s really doing anything for you (it is!).  That’s the kind of instructor that Kate is, you can sense her dedication, and concern for your improvement.  She paces your development according to your individual need, constantly monitoring what you individually need to work on to improve.  That’s why I travel almost ten miles to her classes despite the fact there are many Pilates classes within walking distance of where I live.
